There are many types of bikes, and many different uses for these two wheeled vehicles. It has been used for touring, racing, commuting, in the delivery and courier services, as toys and fitness equipment, and in the 1970s the Gary Fisher bicycle company further contributed to bicycle design with its Mountain Bike Company. Gary Fisher today continues to be an innovator in the field of biking. The company is fueled by the creativity and designing flair of one man, the legendary cycling devotee and bicycle innovator Gary Fisher.
The company’s many designs include the 29ers, the Full Suspension, the Genesisters, the Hardtails, the Kids mountain bikes, the Pavement, and the Road Series. The 29ers are the big wheeled bikes, the Genesisters are specially designed for women bikers, the Hardtails are their non-suspension bikes, the Kids Series are designed to conform to the particular weight and size of children bikers, the Pavement are their off-the-trail bikes, and the Road Series are the different road bikes. All these bikes boast that unique Gary Fisher style which concentrates on speed, agility, comfort, and versatility at the same time.
There have been constant developments in bicycle design since the 1st pedal-less dandy horse in the 19th century. After this, the crank and the pedal were added on, and then the front wheel of these first bikes was enlarged. Then there was the velocipede, the high-seated penny farthing which we now find constructed from iron-and wood, and then the dwarf ordinary, the safety bike which was also called the chain drive and which had lower seats and better weight distribution. Finally, the seat tube was designed. The resulting diamond frame is what modern bicycle frames look like now.
